Vishap
Steer the vishap — the water dragon of Armenian legend — through the dusk waters of Lake Sevan, eating ishkhan trout and growing a stone segment with every catch. It is the classic snake game rebuilt as a free 3D browser game: a dragon-stone body winding across a rippling lake, a golden trout every seventh catch, and your own tail for an enemy. No download, no account — swipe on your phone or take the arrow keys.
How to play
- Swipe or press an arrow key to turn; the vishap swims on by itself, one cell per beat, faster as it grows.
- Every trout grows the vishap by one segment. Every seventh is golden and worth three — but it slips away after six seconds.
- Don’t bite your own tail. In Classic mode the shore ends the run too; in Sevan mode the lake wraps around.

The dragon in the stone
The vishap is Armenia’s dragon — a serpent of water, storms, and mountains, not a fire-breather. Thousands of years ago, people of the Armenian Highlands raised vishapakars — carved dragon stones, some four meters tall, often shaped like fish — beside mountain springs and lakes. This game returns the vishap to Lake Sevan, one of the largest high-altitude freshwater lakes in Eurasia, about 1,900 meters up. The trout it hunts is the ishkhan, Sevan’s own “prince fish,” found nowhere else; the silhouette on the horizon is Sevanavank, the ninth-century monastery on the lake’s peninsula.
FAQ
Is Vishap free to play?
Yes. Vishap runs free in your browser — no download, no account, and it works on phones, tablets, and desktops.
What is a vishap?
A vishap is the dragon of Armenian mythology — a serpent bound to water, storms, and mountains rather than fire. Bronze-Age megaliths called vishapakars, dragon stones often carved in the shape of fish, still stand near springs across the Armenian Highlands.
How is Vishap different from the classic snake game?
The rules are classic snake — eat, grow, never bite yourself — but played in 3D on Lake Sevan, with a body that glides in smooth curves instead of jumping cell to cell. Classic mode makes the shore deadly; Sevan mode wraps the lake around at the edges.
What does the golden trout do?
The golden ishkhan is worth three points instead of one and appears as every seventh catch. It stays on the water for only six seconds, so you must choose between a safe path and a fast one.
