Feed the Aralez
A piece of gata — Armenia’s sweet layered pastry — hangs from ropes above a hungry aralez pup, the winged hound that licks the fallen back to life. Cut the ropes with a swipe, let the gata swing and drop through the pomegranate seeds, and land it in the pup’s mouth. Twelve levels, three seeds each, one dinner at stake. Feed the Aralez is a free browser game: no download, no account, one swipe and supper is served.
How to play
- Swipe across a rope to cut it — or tap the rope for a single clean cut.
- The gata swings and falls. Sweep it through the pomegranate seeds — three per level — and drop it into the pup’s mouth.
- Miss the mouth and the gata is gone; the level restarts. Feed the pup on all twelve levels — banked seeds are your score.

The pup and the pastry
The old songs say the aralezner — winged dog spirits — descend onto battlefields and lick the wounds of the fallen, and the fallen rise and fight again. The most famous telling belongs to Ara the Beautiful: when he fell in battle against Shamiram’s army, she had his body laid out for the aralezner, hoping their tongues would call him back. Our pup is young; before he heals any heroes, he must be fed.
On his menu is gata, the sweet layered pastry baked across Armenia — golden crust over a filling called koritz, nothing more than butter, sugar, and flour worked together. Every region shapes it differently; round and patterned is the classic. The seeds you sweep up on the way down are pomegranate, Armenia’s fruit of abundance. No pup has ever eaten better.
